The next edition of Louisville Life charms viewers with a magical meeting of conjurers, enchanters and illusionists. The program, hosted by Candyce Clifft, airs Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2; Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET1; and Sunday, Oct. 26 at noon/11 a.m. CT on KET2.First, Louisville Life enters Louisville's world of magic and finds out how the city managed to bring the world's two leading magical organizations together for one show-stopping convention. Viewers meet one of the country's best-known professional magicians, Louisville native Mac King, who has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman and is the star of his own Las Vegas show. Local magician David Garrard also talks about the Louisville Magic Club.
Then, the program tours the Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center, located at the former site of the Fischer Meat Packing Co. The 360,000 square-foot center is being renovated into more than 200 artist studios, retail space, galleries, teaching studios, offices, rehearsal space for theater groups and more. The center also hosts fairs, film festivals, music concerts and other special events.
Next, Louisville Life visits the family-owned Burger's Market, which is celebrating 50 years in business. In 1958, the family opened Burger's Suprette and began delighting customers with country ham and homemade biscuits. Today, the store is still operated by Burger family members, who continue the long standing tradition of attentive customer service by delivering groceries, providing a catering service and stocking hard-to-find items.
Back at the studio, Candyce interviews Chief Robert White of the Louisville Police Department. White provides tips on crime prevention and talks about some of Louisville's successful crime-fighting programs.
The program also profiles philanthropist James Graham Brown, builder of the Brown Hotel.
