Each year, the Governor's Awards in the Arts honors Kentucky individuals, businesses and organizations that make outstanding contributions to the arts in the state. KET showcases the honorees in The Kentucky Governor's Awards in the Arts 2007/08, airing Sunday, Oct. 26 at 10/9 p.m. CT on KET1.The 2007-2008 award recipients, who were honored at a ceremony October 1, are Owsley Brown II, Milner Award; Suzan-Lori Parks, National Award; Vince DiMartino, Artist Award; John Timmons, ear X-tacy, Business Award; Kentucky Repertory Theatre, Community Arts Award; Julie White, Education Award; Cowan Community Action Group, Folk Heritage Award; City of Covington, Government Award; and Charlie Hughes, Media Award.
The program features video clips about the award winners shown during the awards ceremony in the State Capitol rotunda.
