The bed and breakfast is located on more than 300 acres of rolling landscape and includes a farmhouse that offers a dose of southern comfort and an original log cabin more than 150 years old .
Next, Dave visits Lexington, where he meets with the owner of Michler's, one of the oldest continually operating florists in Kentucky. Owner John Michler's great-grandfather founded the business in 1901 and constructed the greenhouses which are still in use today. Michler discusses the variety of plants sold by the business and the services it offers while sharing his beliefs about the transforming power of plants.
Finally, Dave's travels take him to the Louisville ceramic studio of Marie-Elena Ottman, an artist who grew up in Panama. She describes her colorful and exotic sculptures as "hybrids" of the cultures of the U.S. and Panama, drawing on both as important inspirations. Ottman explains the multi-step process of creating her artwork and shares some of her favorite pieces.
