The next edition of Louisville Life features a profile of WHAS personality Terry Meiners, the Louisville Skating Academy, actress Irene Dunne, the founder of Youth Alive! and Better Days Records. The program, hosted by Candyce Clifft, airs Thursday, Dec. 18 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2; Saturday, Dec. 20 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET; and Sunday Dec. 21 at noon/11 a.m. CT on KET2.First, Louisville Life profiles local radio and television personality Meiners, who welcomes viewers into his home as he talks about his childhood as one of 14 children, his start in the broadcast ing business and what continues to drive him after more than 30 years on radio.
Next, the program visits the Louisville Skating Academy (LSA), as it prepares to host the annual "Nutcracker on Ice," a figure-skating version of the holiday classic. A non-profit organization, LSA trains ice skaters at all levels, from recreational skaters to international competitors.
Then, Louisville Life looks back at Louisville native and actress Dunne. A five-time Academy Award nominee, Dunne starred in such classic films as The Awful Truth with Cary Grant, Love Affair with Charles Boyer and Life with Father with William Powell.
Next, Candyce talks with Kenny Boyd, founder of Youth Alive!, about the non-profit organization designed to help young inner-city Louisvillians succeed in life.
Finally, owner Ben Jones guides viewers through his Better Days Records store. The store began in the Crescent Hill neighborhood, migrated to the Highlands and is now a fixture in west Louisville.
