A young woman is haunted by the murder of her aunt in a London townhouse in the KET Movie Classics presentation of Gaslight, airing Saturday, Feb. 7 at 9/8 p.m. CT on KET1 and Friday, Feb. 13 at 9/8 p.m. CT on KET2.Persuaded by her new husband to return to the townhouse in order to overcome her anxieties, she soon finds herself misplacing small objects and hearing odd noises, and before long her spouse has her believing she's losing her sanity. Anton Walbrook and Diana Wynyard star. When the film was remade in 1944 with Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman, the studio attempted to have all prints of the earlier version destroyed. Happily, the studio was unsuccessful and the original film survived.
Then old blue eyes stars in The Man with the Golden Arm, airing Saturday, Feb. 21 at 9/8 p.m. CT on KET1 and Friday, Feb. 27 at 9/8 p.m. CT on KET2. Card shark Frankie Machine battles to curb his heroin addiction while juggling the needs of his bedridden wife and his true love, Molly. The movie features Frank Sinatra , who earned an Academy Award nomination for the role, and Kim Novak. Incomparable composer Elmer Berstein was also nominated for his score.
