The next Louisville Life meets a woman who is both a fashionable mom and a district court judge, explores local connections to Abraham Lincoln, finds out where Louisvillians indulge their sweet tooth cravings and more. The program, hosted by Candyce Clifft, airs Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2; Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET1; and Sunday, Feb. 15 at noon/11 a.m. CT on KET2.
First, Louisville Life meets Angela McCormick Bisig, a Jefferson District Court judge and mother of three. Angela talks about her life on the bench, why she support s foreign language education for court personnel and where her interests lie when she doesn't have a gavel in her hand. Next, the program visits Glassworks, a unique facility that allows visitors to tour not only glass galleries but also flameworking and glassblowing studios, where they can watch the artists at work. Glassworks also provides classes and walk-in workshops for those interested in creating their own works of art. Then, as the nation celebrates Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday, Louisville Life explores some local Lincoln connections. And, Bryan Bush, author of Lincoln and the Speeds, joins Candyce in the studio to discuss Lincoln's intimate friendship with Louisvillian Joshua Speed. Finally, the program drops in at three Louisville bakeries: BabyCakes, an "artisan cupcakery"; Cake Flour, which promotes all- natural ingredients; and the Cupcake Shoppe, which specializes in gourmet designer cupcakes.
