| KET's TeleFund 2009 kicks off with Our Kentucky, concert specials, travel, drama and inspiration |

KET's TeleFund 2009, taking place Feb. 28 through March 15, brings viewers an exciting blend of programs celebrating Kentucky, concert specials, star-studded drama and much more.
KET's new original production, Our Kentucky, reveals the natural splendor, manmade masterpieces and diverse wildlife of the Commonwealth in vivid high-definition. Narrated by Nick Clooney, the program premieres Saturday, Feb. 28 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET1 and KET HD and Sunday, March 1 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET1. Kentucky's Last Great Places: A Kentucky Life Special journeys to places that look much as they did when the first European settlers began arriving in Kentucky. On the music side, A Kentucky Treasure: The J.D. Crowe Story uses interviews with fellow musicians and archival concert footage to profile the bluegrass legend. TeleFund 2009 also features concert specials from the Police, Chris Botti, the Statler Brothers, David Foster, John Denver and more. Other music programs include Paul Simon: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, and My Music: My Generation - The '60s. Telefund viewers also revisit Celtic Woman: The Greatest Journey, a collection of memorable highlights from their acclaimed PBS specials. As an exclusive thank you gift, KET is offering first-chance tickets to Celtic Woman's June 16 Lexington performance. Plus, Rick Steves winds his way through the most romantic spots in Spain, France and the Czech Republic in Rick Steves' Romantics' Europe. And, Carnegie Mellon University professor Randy Pausch delivers his moving final lecture on The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams. Finally, Masterpiece Classic presents Dickens' "David Copperfield." Maggie Smith, Ian McKellen, Bob Hoskins and an irresistible 10-year-old Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) star.
