KET Presents pbs
KET provides Lincoln educational materials and online resources
Festivities surrounding the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's need not mark the end of the celebration of one of our most renowned native sons. KET offers a wide array of entertaining and educational online resources for Lincoln fans of all ages.

KET's "Lincoln and His Times" timeline, available at www.ket.org/lincoln, details major events that occurred in Kentucky, the nation and the world during Lincoln's life. And, visitors to the Web site can find answers to frequently asked Lincoln questions and test their Lincoln knowledge with the "Abe a cross Kentucky " quiz.

For use in schools, KET has selected 31 short video segments from Lincoln: 'I, too, am a Kentuckian.' and other KET productions. Additional related resources include lesson plans and idea cards for Kindergarten through 12th grade.

"Lincoln: The Kentucky Years," a 14-minute film focusing on Kentucky's influence on Lincoln's personality, values and accomplishments, has been distributed to Kentucky schools. Public schools also received an information sheet about other new resources on Lincoln for Kentucky educators and ideas for activities using the DVD.

KET's Lincoln programs and resources were supported by grants from the Kentucky Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, the Kentucky Historical Society and the Kentucky Arts Council.
