The next Louisville Life features actor and musician Hal Sparks, local blacksmith and sculptor Craig Kaviar and much more. The program, hosted by Candyce Clifft, airs Thursday, April 9 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2; Saturday, April 11 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET1; and Sunday, April 12 at noon/11 a.m. CT on KET2.Comedian and former Kentucky resident Sparks, of Talk Soup and VH1's I Love the ... series, tells Louisville Life about growing up in the Commonwealth, fronting a rock band and acting on the big screen. He reveals what made his family move from Louisville to Peak's Mill, Ky., and how he went from living in a home with no television to becoming a successful television personality.
Next, the program travels to Kaviar Forge and Gallery, a combination exhibition area and functional sculpture studio. Kaviar, who moved to Kentucky in 1984, creates award-winning functional art work that has been exhibited and commissioned throughout the U.S.
Then, Louisville Life commemorates Thomas Jefferson's 266th birthday with a look at his ties to Jefferson County.
Also, Candyce interviews John E. Kleber, emeritus professor of history at Morehead State University and the editor of The Kentucky Encyclopedia and The Encyclopedia of Louisville.
Finally, Louisville Life visits the Wakefield Scearce Galleries in Shelbyville's historic Science Hill, a group of century-old buildings that house several unique shops.
