Renee welcomes a panel of guests to discuss We Shall Remain: American Experience, a national PBS series documenting 300 years of Native-American history, and provide insight into Native Americans' past, present and future in Kentucky on the next Connections with Renee Shaw. The program airs Friday, May 15 at 4/3 p.m. CT on KET2 and Sunday, May 17 at 1:30/12:30 p.m. CT on KET1.Guests include Helen Danser, chair of the Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission (KNAHC); Darla M. Jackson, arts community liaison for KNAHC; and State Representative Reginald Meeks (D- Louisville), member of KNAHC.
The guests also discuss KNAHC's mission, myths and stereotypes about Native Americans, and legislation in the Kentucky General Assembly that attempts to define Native Americans, among other topics.
