The next edition of Louisville Life visits local resale stores, painter Billy Hertz’s new home/art gallery and the Jeffersontown Historical Museum. The show also looks back at the life of the late Thomas Merton and meets the associate artistic director of the Louisville Ballet. The program airs Thursday, May 28 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2; Saturday, May 30 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET1; and Sunday, May 31 at noon/11 a.m. CT on KET2.First, the program explores how consumers can save money and go green at the same time by shopping at resale stores. The three businesses featured –– Eyedia, Habitat Restore and Fabulous Finds –– offer everything from furniture, appliances and building materials to clothing and jewelry, allowing customers to find just what they need to furnish their homes and update their wardrobes.
Next, viewers tour the new Shelby Park home of Hertz, an artist and “urban pioneer.” The home, which doubles as his art gallery and studio, was built in 1911 as a burlesque theater.
Louisville Life also visits the Jeffersontown Historical Museum, which documents the story of the second largest city in Jefferson County.
Then, Candyce interviews Helen Starr, associate artistic director of the Louisville Ballet.
Finally, the program profiles renowned author Thomas Merton, a nationally known Trappist monk of Our Lady of Gethsemani Abbey in Nelson County.
