On the next One to One with Bill Goodman, Pearse Lyons, founder and president of Alltech Biotechnology, discusses Alltech's annual conference, the company's commitment to education and humanitarian efforts and more. The program, recorded at Alltech's 25th International Animal Health and Nutrition Symposium in Lexington, airs Sunday, June 7 at 1 p.m./noon CT on KET1 and Tuesday, June 9 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2.
Lyons discusses the conference's theme of sustainability and his address to the more than 1,200 attendees visiting from approximately 65 countries. He talks about the company's commitment to education, including installing fully equipped science laboratories in several Kentucky schools, the Young Scientist Award for university students worldwide, the Alltech Opera Scholarship Competition at the University of Kentucky and other partnerships with universities around the state.
Lyons also discusses Alltech's humanitarian efforts around the world and how those activities attract and motivate the company's employees. Alltech has helped orphanages, victims of natural disasters and people affected by HIV in Africa.
