The next Louisville Life finds out why Louisville's water was voted number one by the American Water Works Association, visits Louisville Stoneware, profiles architect Arthur Loomis and more. The program airs Thursday, July 2 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2; Saturday, July 4 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET1; and Sunday, July 5 at noon/11 a.m. CT on KET2. Candyce Clifft hosts.The Louisville Water Company has been delivering water to Louisville-area residents since 1860. Viewers learn how water gets from the Ohio River to the faucets of thousands of Louisvillians, find out why Louisville's water company was awarded "Best of the Best" by American Water Works Association and see the recent renovations of one of the city's most significant landmarks: the water tower at Zorn Avenue and River Road.
Next, Louisville Life visits a local institution, Louisville Stoneware, which has been in operation since 1815. In addition to illustrating the transformative process from clay to finished product, the program also examines Louisville Stoneware's "Paint Your Own Pottery" venture.
Next, the program profiles Loomis, who designed the Speed Art Museum among many other Louisville-area landmarks.
Then, Candyce talks with Tom FitzGerald, founder and director of the Kentucky Resources Council, who received the Heinz Award in the Environment. FitzGerald has been hailed as a "watchdog of the environment" in the Bluegrass State.
Finally, Louisville Life takes a ride on the 94-year-old Belle of Louisville.
