KET introduces new British comedies
KET is celebrating this Independence Day with the British, introducing two classic BBC comedies: The Vicar of Dibley and Waiting for God.

The Vicar of Dibley, an acclaimed British comedy about a boisterous female minister who comes to serve in an eccentrically conservative small town's church, airs Saturdays, beginning July 4 at 9:30/8:30 p.m. CT on KET2 and Sundays, beginning July 5 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET1.

When the ancient vicar of Dibley dies suddenly, the parishioners are surprised to find that the bishop has appointed a woman as their new vicar. Geraldine Grainger (Dawn French), the new vicar, is aided (sort of) by the verger, Alice Tinker (Emma Chambers) and opposed at practically every turn by the parish counsel, David Horton (Gary Waldhorn).

A wry comedy set in a retirement village, Waiting for God returns to KET's Britcom line-up. Featuring two elderly eccentrics who are prepared neither to give in nor grow old gracefully, the program airs Saturdays, beginning July 4 at 10/9 p.m. CT on KET2 and Sundays, beginning July 5 at 8:30/7:30 p.m. CT on KET1.

Retired photojournalist Diana Trent (Stephanie Cole) finds herself in Bayview Retirement Home and is pretty angry about it -- as she is about virtually everything. Tom Ballard (Graham Crowden), a nice but somewhat otherworldly older gentleman in the home, cheerily helps her undermine Bayview and its manager Harvey Baines (Daniel Hill).

The Vicar of Dibley and Waiting for God are produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation.
