Jo Sanders, a nationally recognized gender equity expert with more than three decades of experience in the field, is the next guest on Connections with Renee Shaw. Sanders provides consulting services for education and employment institutions about women and technology, science and mathematics. The program airs Friday, July 17 at 4/3 p.m. CT on KET2 and Sunday, July 19 at 1:30/12:30 p.m. CT on KET1.
Sanders discusses challenges and successes in the field of gender equity the importance of encouraging women to enter science, technology, engineering and math fields; and how she persuades educators and employers who may be resistant to her message.
Sanders also talks about the roles race and socio-economic status play in education and employment and the benefits of educational programs targeted to minority and low-income students.
Finally, Sanders discusses her newest project, in which she helps people record and preserve their personal and family histories.
