The next Louisville Life profiles a woman who is both a fashionable mom and a district court judge, finds out where Louisvillians indulge their sweet tooth cravings, spotlights the Kentucky Humane Society and more. The program, hosted by Candyce Clifft, airs Thursday, July 16 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2; Saturday, July 18 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET1; and Sunday, July 19 at noon/11 a.m. CT on KET2.First, Louisville Life meets Angela McCormick Bisig, a Jefferson District Court judge and mother of three. Angela talks about her life on the bench, why she supports foreign language education for court personnel and where her interests lie when she doesn't have a gavel in her hand.
Next, the program drops in at three Louisville bakeries: BabyCakes, an "artisan cupcakery"; Cake Flour, which promotes a ll-natural ingredients; and the Cupcake Shoppe, which specializes in gourmet designer cupcakes.
Then, viewers learn how the Kentucky Humane Society cares for the Commonwealth's homeless animals and find out what innovations are in the works to continue the organization's legacy.
Back in the studio, Jerry Tolson, festival coordinator of the University of Louisville's Jazz Fest 2009, joins Candyce to talk about the festival, his work at the college and his own successful jazz career.
Finally, the program visits Glassworks, a unique facility that allows visitors to tour not only glass galleries but also flameworking and glassblowing studios, where they can watch the artists at work. Glassworks also provides classes and walk-in workshops for those interested in creating their own works of art.
