With summer in full swing, Kentucky Afield turns its attention to the pleasures and pests of the season, from hummingbirds and turtles to mosquitoes, snakes and bats.

Airing live Saturday, Aug. 1 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET1, Kentucky Afield Non-Game Call-In 2009 offers viewers a chance to ask questions and get answers about Kentucky's many non-game animals.

Topics for discussion are likely to include mosquitoes, attracting hummingbirds to gardens, the status of Kentucky's black bear population and distinguishing poisonous snakes from those that are harmless.

Host Tim Farmer and a panel of experts from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources answer viewers' questions during the one-hour show. A recorded version of the program airs Sunday, Aug. 2 at 4/3 p.m. CT on KET1.

Kentucky Afield Non-Game Call-In 2009 is a KET/Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources production, produced and directed by Carl Babcock.
