The new KET series Reel Visions: Spotlight on Kentucky Filmmakers offers Kentuckians the chance to display their filmmaking talents. Each half-hour program features several short films produced, directed, written or edited by Kentucky filmmakers. Reel Visions airs Mondays, beginning Aug. 3 at midnight/11 p.m. CT on KET KY and Sundays, beginning Aug. 9 at 1 a.m./midnight CT on KET1.Films airing on Reel Visions in August include Bill Santen's "Portrait Studies," an innovative approach to storytelling based on life in rural Bourbon County, and "Fast Love," in which filmmaker Josh Flowers visits fast food drive-thrus to pose an important question to complete strangers. Also, a man experiences a "dark night of the soul" and comes face-to-face with his demons in Bently Tittle's "Brand New You," and Appalachian native Bruce Parsons turns the lens on his own family in a heartbreaking mini-documentary titled "I Know You."
