Kevin Whately returns as Inspector Lewis in seven thrilling new Masterpiece Mystery! episodes, beginning Sunday, Aug. 30 at 9/8 p.m. CT on KET1 and KET HD and Thursday, Sept. 3 at 9/8 p.m. CT on KET2.Teamed with his cool, cerebral partner DS Hathaway, Morse's former sidekick tackles murder and mayhem in the seemingly perfect academic haven of Oxford. Several crimes take a personal turn, revealing new sides of the inimitable duo as the relationship between Inspector and Sergeant deepens.
In the first program, "And the Moonbeams Kiss the Sea," stolen rare books and the murders of a brilliant Oxford fine art student and a library maintenance engineer lead Lewis and Hathaway to connect the crimes to a local gambling addiction group and two talented painters.
Next, in "Music to Die For," airing Sept. 6 and 10, the worlds of no-rules boxing, Oxford dons and Cold War in trigue surround the death of a prominent don.
In "Life Born of Fire," airing Sept. 13 and 17, a serial killer seems to be targeting a religious group that claims to give guidance to lost souls, and in "The Great and the Good," the prime suspect in the assault of a teenage girl has a seemingly watertight alibi from three pillars of the Oxford community. It airs Sept. 20 and 24.
Masterpiece Mystery! "Inspector Lewis, Series II" is produced by WGBH/Boston. More information about KET programming and education services, as well as how to support KET, can be found at www.ket.org.
