Former Courier-Journal writer and author Susan Reigler discusses her books, artist and jewelry designer Clifton Nicholson shares his designs, the Alley Cat Advocates help some of Louisville’s most vulnerable residents and much more on the next edition of Louisville Life. The program, hosted by Candyce Clifft, airs Thursday, Oct. 8 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2; Saturday, Oct. 10 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET; and Sunday, Oct. 11 at noon/11 a.m. CT on KET2. First, Louisville Life meets Reigler, author of two recent University Press of Kentucky books, The Complete Guide to Kentucky State Parks and The Kentucky Bourbon Cocktail Book. Nicholson, winner of the fashion industry’s prestigious Coty Award, created his own successful jewelry business in Southern Indiana. The program visits the artist in his award-winning home and gallery, which includes aviaries housing dozens of rare peacocks. In September, the Frazier International History Museum wrapped-up a four-month long tribute to Louisville’s bygone Fontaine Ferry Park. And, as today’s theme parks finish up their summer season, Louisville Life remembers another hot spot for fun-loving Louisvillians: the historic White City Amusement Park, which operated from 1907 to 1912. Back at the studio, Candyce is joined by Louisville Metro Parks Director Mike Heitz, who discusses Louisville’s parks and recreation programs. Also, in recognition of National Feral Cat Day (October 16), Louisville Life spotlights Alley Cat Advocates, a local non-profit organization that works to control the population of Louisville’s feral cat colonies.
