| Louisville Life meets youngest-ever Tony nominee, coordinates with The Event Company |

The next Louisville Life meets native Louisvillian, author and Tony-Award nominated producer Rachel Helson, who discusses what has driven her to succeed at 20 years of age; visits The Event Company, a local company producing national events; honors Lou Tate, a nationally-acclaimed textile weaver, and the Hill sisters of “Happy Birthday to You” fame; and more. The program, hosted by Candyce Clifft, airs Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2; Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET; and Sunday, Oct. 18 at noon/11 a.m. CT on KET2. First, Helson tells Louisville Life about her “Acting for a Cure” project, which has raised more than $100,000 for breast cancer research. Helson also explains how she became the youngest producer to ever be nominated for Broadway’s biggest award. The program also visits The Event Company, a Louisville business that designs, plans, manages and produces corporate special events nationwide. Louisville Life then provides the story behind a new historical marker at the Little Loomhouse, which recognizes Tate and the Hill sisters. According to local legend, “Happy Birthday” was first sung in one of the Loomhouse cottages. Next, Candyce interviews Marlene Gordon, executive director of Louisville’s Coalition for the Homeless, a local non-profit group aimed at educating the community about homelessness. Gordon discusses the growing homeless population, including the people she calls the "new homeless.” Louisville Life also heads to Frankfort Avenue to drop in at Just Creations, a unique store that assists low-income craftspeople around the world by selling their products.
