Visit the Kentucky Life site: www.ket.org/kentuckylife/

On the next edition of Kentucky Life, hosted by Dave Shuffett, viewers visit two of Lexington’s tastiest locales: Brown’s Bakery and Orchid Flower Restaurant. The program also makes stops in Pippa Passes, Covington and Old Louisville. The program airs Saturday, Feb. 13 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET; Sunday, Feb. 14 at 4:30/3:30 p.m. CT on KET; and Sunday, Feb. 14 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2.

First, Kentucky Life visits Brown’s Bakery, a family owned bakery beginning its fourth year in business in Lexington. Specialties include individual miniature desserts and unique wedding cakes.

Then, “Our Town” features Pippa Passes in Knott County. Home of Alice Lloyd College, the name of the town is a reference to Robert Browning’s verse drama, “Pippa Passes.” The town was formerly known as Caney Creek and is still called that by many residents.

Next, Dave tries ballroom dancing at Baker-Hunt Art and Cultural Center in Covington for the “Dave Does It” segment.

Also, in a new portion titled “The Special,” Dave orders the featured dish at Orchid Flower Restaurant in Lexington. Dave meets the owner and samples the fare at this local Indonesian restaurant.

Finally, Kentucky Life enjoys the hospitality at the Gallery House Bed and Breakfast, located in Old Louisville across from Central Park. The home, managed by an art professor and a chef, is also designed to display art collections.

Kentucky Life is a KET production, produced by Brandon Wickey. Segment producers are Tom Bickel, Shuffett, Valerie Trimble and Wickey. More information about Kentucky Life, including streaming video, is available at www.ket.org/kentuckylife.
