For Release: 2012-08-01 09:08:00KET Executive Director and CEO Shae Hopkins recently was named vice chair and chair-elect of the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) for the 2013 fiscal year at the organization’s summer meeting. “It’s an honor to have been elected by my peers to help lead the board of NETA,” Hopkins says. “Like KET, hundreds of local public television stations throughout the country provide tremendous services to their communities. Our collective commitment to education and digital-learning resources, as well as local arts, culture and public-affairs programming, is unmatched. NETA is a key partner, supporting local stations in these critical areas.” Says NETA President Skip Hinton: “We are very pleased that Shae Hopkins was elected vice chair by the NETA membership. This is a solid indication not only of the high regard for KET among its public broadcasting peers, but also the importance of the work that Shae and her management team have done to support and expand public television’s role in education and professional training. We look forward to her tenure on our executive committee.” NETA is a professional association based in Columbia, SC, that serves public television licensees and educational entities in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, by providing quality program content, educational resources, professional development, management support and national representation. More information about KET programming and education services, as well as how to support KET, can be found at ket.org.
