Kentucky Collectibles features Kentuckian who owns some of the rarest marbles in the world and more

For Release: 2012-10-02 09:27:00

On the next Kentucky Collectibles, hosts Dave Shuffett and Amy Hess discover the value of some of the rarest marbles in the world. The program airs Saturday, Oct. 27 at 4:30/3:30 p.m. CT and Sunday Oct. 28 at 6:30/5:30 p.m. CT on KET.

Also in this program, expert appraisers examine stunning pottery from Newcomb College and a 1946 Martin guitar.

In addition, Shuffett takes a trip to Bardstown, where he tours the Civil War Museum located there. The museum is the fourth-largest Civil War museum in the United States and contains the only exhibits dedicated to the women of the Civil War.

KETís newest production Kentucky Collectibles tells Kentuckyís stories through prized items, whether heirloom or kitsch, that guests share with Shuffett and Hess. The hosts will also make side trips throughout Kentucky as they explore the world of antiques and collectibles at shops, boutiques and more.

In May, hundreds of people brought their treasures to KETís Appraisal Fair. With cameras rolling, expert appraisers talked to participants about their possessions, assessing the value and history of items that included art, antique furniture, autographed baseballs, pottery and much more.

Kentucky Collectibles is a KET production, produced by Erin Milburn Lowry.
