Season three of the award-winning Masterpiece series Downton Abbey has arrived. In the two-hour season premiere, wedding guests descend on Downton Abbey, where disasters threaten and love is in the air. The program airs Sundays, Jan. 6 - Feb. 17 at 9/8 p.m. on KET and Thursdays, Jan. 10 - Feb. 21 at 9/8 p.m. on KET2.
The Great War is over and the long-awaited engagement of Lady Mary and Matthew is on, but all is not tranquil at Downton Abbey as wrenching social changes, romantic intrigues and personal crises grip the majestic English country estate for a third thrilling season. The all-star cast, including Dame Maggie Smith as the Dowager Countess of Grantham, returns and welcomes guest star Academy Award®-winner Shirley MacLaine.
Lexington native Lucy Sharp has a role in the new season of Downton Abbey. She plays Miss Reid, a maid to American aristocrat Martha Levinson, portrayed by MacLaine. Kentucky Life sits down with 21-year-old Sharp to learn what it’s like to be part of the pop-culture phenomenon. The program airs Saturday, Jan. 26 at 8/7 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 27 at 4/3 p.m. on KET.

Secrets of Highclere Castle reveals how all of the past inhabitants of Highclere lived and how the current inhabitants spend $1 million in annual upkeep funds. The program airs Saturday, Jan. 6 at 8/7 p.m. on KET2 and Sunday, Jan. 13 at 10/9 p.m. on KET.
