For Release: 2013-10-29 09:32:00To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Kentucky, KET and AIA Kentucky embarked on an ambitious seven-month statewide effort to explore the impact that Kentucky’s rich architecture has on how Kentuckians live, work and play. The results of this effort will be announced on Thursday, Nov. 21 at a celebration in Louisville.
In April, the public was asked to nominate their favorite buildings for two competitions, “50 of The Best Kentucky Buildings” and “Ten Buildings That Changed Louisville.” In August and September, the public then voted again to determine the ranking for the “50 of The Best Kentucky Buildings” competition. For the “Ten Buildings That Changed Louisville” competition, all nominations located in Jefferson County were automatically entered and were peer reviewed by a professional jury.
Now, the results of both contests will be revealed and AIA Kentucky will celebrate its milestone anniversary at a celebration on Thursday, Nov. 21 at The Henry Clay located at 604 South Third Street in Louisville. Tickets are $125 per person and include cocktails, dinner and the ceremony. Reservations must be made before November 16 and can be made online at bit.ly/topbuildings or by calling 1-800-866-0366.
KET is Kentucky’s largest classroom, serving more than one million people each week via television, online and mobile. Learn more about Kentucky’s preeminent public media organization on Twitter @KET and facebook.com/KET and at KET.org.
