KET and AIA Kentucky ask public to vote on Top 50 buildings in Kentucky

For Release: 2013-08-15 09:40:00

In April, KET partnered with the Kentucky Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Kentucky) to ask the public to nominate their favorite buildings for two competitions, “50 of The Best Kentucky Buildings” and “Ten Buildings That Changed Louisville.” For the former, 50 finalists have been selected out of more than 300 submissions. Starting August 15 through the end of September, voting will take place to determine the ranking for the “50 of The Best Kentucky Buildings” competition.

The complete list of 50 buildings is below. To vote, visit www.KET.org/topbuildings.

All nominations located in Jefferson County were automatically entered into the “Ten Buildings That Changed Louisville” competition and will be peer reviewed by a professional jury.)

The winners of both competitions will be announced in November at a special event to which nominees, owners and architects of the nominated buildings and the general public will be invited.

KET is Kentucky’s largest classroom, serving more than one million people each week via television, online and mobile. Learn more about Kentucky’s preeminent public media organization on Twitter @KET and facebook.com/KET and at KET.org.
