KET executive director and CEO Shae Hopkins recently was named chair of the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) for the 2014 fiscal year at the organization’s summer meeting.
“It’s an honor and privilege to have been elected by my peers to help lead the board of NETA,” Hopkins says. “Like KET, public television stations throughout the country provide tremendous services to their communities. Our collective commitment to education and instructional resources, arts and culture, and public affairs programming and services is unmatched. NETA is a longtime partner, supporting public broadcasting stations and their work in these critical areas.”
Says NETA president Skip Hinton: “Shae Hopkins’ election as chair of the NETA board of directors is a clear indication of the respect she enjoys among the nation’s public television managers. Her continuing success at KET, and her devotion to the citizens of Kentucky, provides a great model for our profession. We look forward to working with Shae as she leads NETA during the next year.”
