For Release: 2014-08-18 10:47:00Jubilee wraps up its 18th season with a special episode highlighting some of the best moments from the 2013 Festival of the Bluegrass, the festival’s 40th anniversary. With music by many of the hottest names in bluegrass – including The Boxcars, who garnered 10 nominations for the 2014 IBMA Awards, more than any other group – the episode captures the range of hard-driving, traditional and rock-infused sounds that are driving the genre to new heights today. The episode airs Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 8/7 pm on KET and Saturday, Sept. 13 at midnight/11 pm on KET2. Featured groups include Masters of Bluegrass performing “Roll In My Sweet Baby’s Arms”; Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out with “John and Mary”; The Boxcars with “Girl I Love Don’t Pay Me No Mind,” and Blue Highway – who were just behind The Boxcars, with nine 2014 IBMA nominations – singing “If You’ve Got Something to Say.” The episode also spotlights performances by many of the other groups showcased in the series’ 18th season, including NewTown, Town Mountain, Laurel River Line, The Grass Stains and The 23 String Band. Jubilee is an Emmy-nominated KET production. Nick Helton is the producer/director and Teresa Day is the executive producer.
