Next Louisville Life visits Spot5, Claudia Sanders Dinner House and more

For Release: 2013-03-04 12:01:00

The next Louisville Life, hosted by Candyce Clifft, spotlights legendary Hollywood star and Louisvillian Victor Mature, the latest person elected to Louisville's Hometown Heroes program, visits Spot5 art gallery and store, interviews the new president and CEO of Greater Louisville Inc., and eats at Claudia Sanders Dinner House. The program premieres Saturday, March 30 at 7/6 p.m. on KET and Thursday, April 4 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. on KET2.

The Hollywood star for whom the title “hunk” was coined grew up and was later laid to rest in Louisville. Actor Victor Mature is now the latest local to be elected to Louisville’s Hometown Heroes program. Louisville Life also meets with the individuals dedicated to adding a mural of Mature to the Shelby Park neighborhood.

Next, the program meets with the staff and teachers of the locally owned and operated Spot5, who have created an art supply store, gallery, and teaching studio for painting and drawing, ceramics, photography, printmaking and various workshops, all under one roof.

Louisville Life also pays a visit to Claudia Sanders Dinner House, a restaurant first opened in 1968 by Kentucky Fried Chicken founder Colonel Harland Sanders and his wife, Claudia. Originally called Colonel’s Lady, the southern-cooking restaurant burned down in 1999 and quickly reopened with expanded facilities for parties and conferences.

In the studio, Clifft talks with Craig J. Richard, who became Greater Louisville Inc.'s new president and CEO in January. Greater Louisville Inc. is one of the region’s premier business organizations and the leading economic development agency for Greater Louisville.

Louisville Life is a KET production, produced and directed by Gary Pahler. Jayne McClew is co-producer, and Angelic Phelps is associate producer.
