The next Louisville Life, hosted by Candyce Clifft, features Copper Cupcake, the Filson Historical Society, and the Society of Kentucky Lepidopterists, and sits down with Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson. The program premieres Saturday, May 11 at 7/6 p.m. on KET and Thursday, May 16 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. on KET2.

Copper Cupcake, a Kentucky Proud business, is an artisanal, small-batch bakery in Norton Commons that creates hand-crafted treats from locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. At Copper Cupcake, which is headed by Shannon Loucks, items are made with unique ingredients such as Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans, cage-free eggs, European-style butter and Guittard chocolate.

Next, the program heads to the 129-year-old Filson Historical Society, which collects and preserves Kentucky and Ohio River Valley history. Louisville Life explores this storied organization and spotlights some unique holdings among its many collections.

Louisville Life also meets the Society of Kentucky Lepidopterists, a group of mostly amateur butterfly and moth enthusiasts who have been at work since the 1970s recording the biodiversity found in the night sky. The group is credited with identifying more than a thousand moths previously unknown in the state. The program joins them near Coxs Creek at Bernheim Forest.

In the studio, Clifft talks with Kentucky's Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson, who previously spent 21 years as Louisville's mayor.

Louisville Life is a KET production, produced and directed by Gary Pahler. Jayne McClew is co-producer, and Angelic Phelps is associate producer.
