She started playing music when she was just 5 years old, and now, years and many albums later, Rhonda Vincent is recognized by insiders and fans alike as one of the best in the business. She graces the Jubilee stage backed by her high-energy band, The Rage.Vincent learned to play drums at age 5, mandolin at 8, and fiddle at age 10, all as part of her family's band, The Sally Mountain Show. In her mid-20s, she signed with Rebel Records, doing three solo albums before making appearances on the albums of other country artists, including George Jones, Alan Jackson and Dolly Parton.
Her 2001 release, The Storm Still Rages, was nominated for seven International Bluegrass Music Association awards, earning Vincent titles of Entertainer of the Year and--for the second year in a row--Female Vocalist of the Year. The Rage's fiddle player Mike Cleveland and banjo player Tom Adams earned nominations in their respective instrumental categories.
The Jubilee performance by Rhonda Vincent & The Rage was taped at IIIrd. Tyme Out's Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival in Morehead, Ky., in the summer of 2001.
