Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike bring energetic bluegrass to Jubilee
The Washington Post calls Valerie Smith "an underrated member" of "the gender equality" movement in bluegrass music, led by Alison Krauss, Rhonda Vincent and Lynn Morris.

Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike take the stage for a rousing performance on the next Jubilee. The program was taped at the 2002 Festival of the Bluegrass in Lexington, Ky.

As consistent bluegrass chart-toppers, Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike travel constantly, doing what they are most passionate about: making music. In interview segments interspersed between the performances, Smith talks about her music and her life on the road.

For the concert segments, Smith provides boundless energy and an explosive delivery that ensures a memorable performance. In fact, it has been said that watching Valerie Smith perform is "like being an eye-witness to a thermonuclear explosion!"

Smith is a bluegrass singer-songwriter as versatile and talented as she is entertaining. Along with Liberty Pike, she delights audiences with a mix of traditional and contemporary acoustic music.

Jubilee is a KET production, produced by H. Russell Farmer. Nancy Carpenter is executive producer. The program is closed-captioned for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
