Carrying on the tradition of founder Carl Story, his Ramblin' Mountaineers continue to delight audiences with their signature bluegrass gospel sound. This edition of Jubilee pairs them with some fellow gospel performers, the Sullivan Family.Carl Story founded the Ramblin' Mountaineers in the 1930s. Through his long career, he worked with such labels as Mercury and Columbia Records, and made voluminous contributions to country and bluegrass music. Such bluegrass legends as Tater Tate and the Brewster Brothers made names for themselves playing in his group. Story, who also played fiddle with the legendary Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys, passed away in 1995.
Jubilee is a KET production, produced by H. Russell Farmer. Nancy Carpenter is executive producer. The program is closed-captioned for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Viewers can find out more about programming on KET's six digital channels by visiting the KET Web site at www.ket.org.
