This project demonstrates the expressive power of context, the tendency of an image -- in this case a color -- to gather and connect words.
Choose one of the three primary colors -- red, yellow, or blue -- and make a list of 10 words that you associate with that color. Mark the words as nouns, verbs, adjectives, or adverbs. With the chosen color as a title, write a brief story using the list as a vocabulary. As a group, compare your lists and compile a master list of the ten most common words. Try choosing a word for an emotion -- such as "anger" -- for the subject of a word list.
