One to One with Bill Goodman:
David Williams
aired February 2 and 4, 2007
Bill Goodman focuses on the man behind the legislator when he sits down with Kentucky Senate President David Williams, R-Burkesville, on this edition of One to One.
Williams was first elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1984. Two years later, he won a seat in the Senate, where he has served ever since—making him the longest serving current member of that body. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, he earned his law degree from the University of Louisville in 1977.
In the program, taped in the Senate chambers in Frankfort, Goodman questions Williams on issues that aren’t featured on KET’s Kentucky Tonight, where Williams is a frequent guest, or on the floor of the Senate. Topics include his boyhood in rural Kentucky, what drove him to succeed, his schooling, and his plans for the future. Goodman also delves into the policymaker’s philosophy on education and the importance of coal to the state.
