Bill Goodman turns the camera on famed interviewer and television journalist Tim Russert, host of NBC’s Meet the Press, on this edition of One to One.
Russert, the Washington bureau chief for NBC News, also hosts his own weekly interview program on CNBC. As a lawyer, he served as counselor for former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo and was chief of staff to Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York before joining NBC.
In the interview, Russert discusses how he prepares for Meet the Press and recalls some of the most interesting, surprising, and reluctant guests he has hosted. He also discusses his memoir, Big Russ and Me: Father and Son—Lessons of Life, which focuses on his father, and explains how he has tried to pass along what he has learned to his own son, Luke.
Tim Russert died on June 13, 2008 at the age of 58.
