One to One with Bill Goodman:
Bill Bradley

premiered October 14, 2007

This edition of One to One is the first of two featuring guests from the 2007 Shakertown Roundtable, which brought together public- and private-sector leaders to discuss the relationship between improving early childhood education and Kentucky’s long-term economic development goals. It was held at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in late September.

In this program, host Bill Goodman introduces excerpts from the keynote address at the Roundtable: a speech by former Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bill Bradley on the theme of re-energizing political and social activism in America. Bradley, a former professional basketball star and one-time presidential candidate, outlines his ideas on the subject in his book The New American Story. “Politics is stuck,” he says, “but idealism isn’t dead. It can be reawakened.”

Full video coverage of the two-day conference and a one-hour KET documentary with excerpts and reflections are available for viewing online at our Shakertown Roundtable pages.
