The topics of conversation range from Appalachian small-town life to national political strategizing on this edition of One to One as host Bill Goodman speaks with Mike Duncan, a former Inez banker who now chairs the Republican National Committee.
A graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law and a resident of Inez in Martin County, Duncan was elected the 60th chairman of the Republican National Committee in January 2007. During more than 30 years as a political strategist, he has served on the campaigns of five presidents: Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush. Duncan is also active in numerous professional and nonprofit organizations, including the Christian Appalachian Project.
On the program, Duncan discusses his job as chairman of the RNC and what he is doing to get the Republican Party ready for the 2008 presidential election.
