Bill Goodman talks about entrepreneurship and technological innovation with Kathy Gornik, co-owner and president of Lexington’s Thiel Audio, on this edition of One to One.
Founded in the 1970s, Thiel develops and manufactures high-end loudspeakers for home entertainment systems. Gornik handles the business end of things, while co-founder Jim Thiel heads the product design and engineering operations. Gornik also has taken on a leadership role in the electronics industry, including a term as chair of the Consumer Electronics Association board and executive board. She is also a former member of the Electronic Industries Alliance Board of Governors and the National Science and Technology Education Partnership Board of Trustees. Closer to home, she chairs the Bluegrass Institute for Public Policy Solutions Board of Directors.
Gornick also has appeared on an edition of CNBC’s The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch that highlighted entrepreneurs who have used the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas as a means to grow their businesses.
