One to One with Bill Goodman
Mike Huckabee and Cassandra King
premiered February 15, 2009
This edition of One to One with Bill Goodman features two interviews. Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate, discusses his book, Do The Right Thing: Inside the Movement That’s Bringing Common Sense Back to America, about his experiences during the Republican presidential race and his hopes for the future of the GOP. In a separate interview, author Cassandra King talks about her newest novel, Queen of Broken Hearts, in which the main character leads divorce recovery retreats.
First, King discusses her quirky hobbies, her love of writing and her inspiration for Queen of Broken Hearts. She shares her writing process, explains why she enjoys writing in first person and talks about her favorite authors. King also offers a glimpse into her newest novel in progress.
Then, Huckabee talks about his disappointments and successes during his presidential campaign, U.S. energy independence, agriculture and the value of good health habits and arts education for children. The former governor also discusses his television appearances on programs such as The Daily Show, Saturday Night Live and The View and why he refuses to take himself too seriously.
