Edward James: Builder of Dreams

Born to wealth and luxury (and rumored to be the illegitimate son of King Edward VII), British collector, poet, and architect Edward James forsook Edwardian aristocracy to sponsor and collaborate with radical thinkers and fledgling Surrealist artists, including Sigmund Freud, Salvador Dalí, Bertolt Brecht, Rene Magritte, Kurt Weil, George Balanchine, Aldous Huxley, and Man Ray. He also spent more than 20 years-and a personal fortune-creating Las Pozas, a fantastic city of sculptures, pools, and waterfalls hidden away in the jungles of Mexico.
