Fastballs, Flips, and Physics: Science on the Sandlot

An electronic field trip for grades 4-12 uses lessons from baseball to illustrate ideas in math, science, arts, and social studies while also exploring the roles African Americans, Latinos, and Asians have played in the sport's history. Guests include Sharon Robinson, daughter of Jackie Robinson, the first black player in the modern major leagues; Negro League veteran Buck O'Neil; author and historian Kerry Yo Nakagawa; and New York Mets player John Franco.
