Frontier: Stories from White Australia's Forgotten War

Hundreds of art works and archival photos, as well as letters, diaries, and official records, tell the story of the 150-year land war in Australia, which took the lives of 2,000 settlers and at least 20,000 Aborigines between 1788 and 1938. Because many settlers assumed that the blacks would die out as a natural consequence of competition with the white race, thousands of Aborigines were imprisoned on reservations, their children taken from them in an effort to breed them out.
