Great Flood of 1936

In March 1936, one of the most devastating floods in more than 300 years roared down the Connecticut River, inundating towns, destroying homes and bridges, and leaving thousands homeless. Archival flood footage and photography, newspaper accounts, and eyewitness interviews chronicle the disaster and trace its impact on residents of western Massachusetts and 11 other states.
