Grand Canyon Flood!

On March 26, 1996, Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt opened the flood gates of the Glen Canyon Dam, releasing millions of gallons of water into the Colorado River over the next seven days. This attempt to restore a natural balance to the river's ecosystem was also one of the largest-scale scientific experiments ever conducted.
