American Voices

A high school social studies series featuring interviews with Americans from all walks of life who took part in a federally sponsored oral history project in the late 1930s. Immigrants and businessmen, farmers and meatpackers, and New Deal relief workers tell stories of the boom times of the 1920s, the stock market crash of 1929 and the Great Depression, and the immigrant and minority experience in the America of the early 20th century.
