Around 35 million years ago, a mile-wide meteor crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off North America. Now, thanks to new underwater archaeology techniques and remote sensing technology, scientists are finally beginning to understand that ancient cataclysm and its far-reaching effects. This electronic field trip for grades 4-9 takes students along with United States Geological Survey researchers as they work to piece together the story of the meteor impact.
