Nkosi: A Voice of Africa's AIDS Orphans

The story of 12-year-old Nkosi Johnson, a South African boy who was born HIV-positive and has lived every day on the verge of death. Unlike most of the estimated 13 million African AIDS orphans, whose voices are often ignored, Nkosi was adopted into a loving family, becoming a conscience for his nation and a voice for a generation of children less fortunate than he. He spoke out forcefully for the rights of children and families affected and infected by AIDS, addressing the paralyzing effects of stigmatization and putting a human face on the tragedy of AIDS in Africa.
