Louisville filmmaker Doan Hoang and her family were airlifted out of Vietnam on April 30, 1975-on the last civilian helicopter out of the country as the U.S. pulled out. Twenty-five years later, she set out to uncover her family's story, including the fate of a sister left behind in the postwar chaos and the political rifts that separated her father and brothers for decades.
